Upon arrival in the historical center of Porto, the following attractions await us:
- The tour begins with an introduction to the Church of the Carmelite Order, which is equally beautiful both inside and outside. The church is famous for its façade decoration with the famous Azulejo tiles.
- We pass by the main building of the University of Porto and, if desired, visit the Lello bookstore (entrance fee) – one of the oldest currently operating bookstores in Portugal.
- We proceed to the church complex of Clérigos (Church and Tower of Clérigos).
- Next, our route passes through the central square of the city.
- One of the main attractions of Porto is the São Bento Station (Estação de São Bento). The building will impress more than any museum. The walls of the station feature scenes from Portuguese history, lined with the famous blue and white Azulejo tiles.
- After this comes the Cathedral – an ancient landmark of Porto and one of the main shrines of Portugal.
- Lunch in a traditional restaurant.
- Colorful Ribeira is one of the busiest and must-see places.
- We move to Vila Nova de Gaia, which is famous for its numerous wine cellars. If our guests wish, we will visit one of them, where a short introductory tour will be held, which ends with a port wine tasting (the tour and tasting are paid).
